Academics
Although Mercy Academy places significant emphasis on assisting parents with the religious and moral development of their children, the school also provides an excellent academic education.

With dedicated teachers and purposefully small class sizes, Mercy Academy provides an ideal environment in which students are challenged and encouraged on a daily basis to do their personal best.
Mercy Provides
• A Catholic culture in which our Faith is lived and learned
• Reading instruction in phonics rather than “whole language”
• Rigorous mathematical exercise -- without the use of calculators
• Explicit teaching of English grammar, sentence diagramming, and composition
• Literary study in complete works written by first-rate, age-appropriate authors
• Training in public speaking and a strong forensics program
During their years at Mercy Academy, students acquire a love for learning as well as the study habits and organizational skills that they will need to succeed in high school, college and beyond.

A clear testament to the achievements of Mercy Academy's academic program is provided by the success enjoyed by Mercy Academy graduates at the high school and university level. For example, many Mercy Academy graduates have received either academic or merit-based scholarships to several of the most competitive local area high schools.

Spiritual Formation
From kindergarten through the eighth grade, Mercy Academy students receive excellent training in the truths of the Catholic faith as part of their moral and religious formation. As they learn Catholic doctrine, students also discover ways in which they can put their faith into action in their daily lives.

Mercy Academy students develop their own prayer life
by participating in daily prayer at the school, including
the Rosary, visits to the Blessed Sacrament, and Holy Mass.

Mercy Academy students are also helped to develop an
understanding and appreciation for the rich devotional life of the Catholic Church by, for example, saying the Memorare, following the Stations of the Cross, and participating in Eucharistic Adoration.

As they mature and develop, Mercy Academy students
participate more fully in the Holy Mass by serving as
altar boys, and lectors.
Social Life
Service Club
Under the inspiration of our patron, Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, the mission of the Mercy Academy Service Club is simple- that of service to others! We initiated a fall yard cleanup project for local residents in need, performed a Christmas Concert at St. Anne's Home, helped with mailings for Pro-Life Wisconsin, and put together a St. Valentine's Festival for all of our little friends of Mercy Academy! Visits to nursing homes, spring planting and cleanup and more are in the works for the months to come!

We reflect upon the loving simplicity of our patron, Blessed Teresa, who reminds us that, “To show great love for God and our neighbor we need not do great things. It is how much love we put in the doing that makes our offering something beautiful for God.”
Forensics
The Mercy Academy forensics team won second place in the small school division for the state of Wisconsin in 2011. This feat could not have been achieved without the guidance of Mercy's forensics coaches, Mres. Sturtzen, Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Rebernick. Each student won various ribbons and trophies at meets throughout the season.
Mercy Academy has a strong school history of success at forensics competitions. Numerous trophies are on display outside the headmaster's office.
Prayer Club
An initiative by the fourth-graders, Prayer Club meets after school for prayer and is open to all grades. They completed the Christmas Novena and are now praying for the Mercy Million: poor souls in Purgatory with the prayer of St. Gertrude.
