Testimonials

Mercy and Academics

"I feel that Mercy provides a very thorough education with an emphasis on the classical form of education. The structure focuses on the strengths of the age group. I am amazed at the work my children are doing!" (Mercy parents since 2005)

"Mercy has helped to build the cornerstone of our children's education. A strong emphasis is placed on teaching phonics, grammar, math skills and math facts in lower grades. They learn to read with the classics--A.A. Milne, Beatrix Potter, E.B. White, etc. This solid education will be with them for life!" (Mercy Parents since 2000)

"Mercy helps us with our children's academic education by constantly challenging them and by offering them an education that is a step (or even a grade) ahead of their age level." (Mercy Parents since 2001)

"We strongly desire an academically traditional education for our children and have found that at Mercy Academy. This has been especially true with respect to the teaching of phonics, grammar, math and the reading of classical literature." (Mercy Parents since 1998)

Mercy and Faith Development

"Mercy helps us develop our children's faith by teaching what the Magisterium of the Catholic church teaches, which reinforces what we, as parents, are teaching at home." (Mercy Parents since 2001)

"I happened to be at school picking up my daughter and was amazed at a great number of children going into the chapel. I peeked inside wondering what was going on and saw the children silently praying. The children, on their own initiative, were making a visit to Our Lord. This sums up everything I have been trying to accomplish at home." (Mercy Parents since 2005)

"The teachers and other families support and encourage us in the formation of our children. In fact, our own faith has further developed by what our children have learned and by how they view God's world." (Mercy Parents since 1998)

"[Mercy Academy has helped us to develop our children's faith through] masses, adoration and an orthodox Catechism. these activities inculcate habits of prayer and thinking which contribute to the development of a fully formed Faith." (Mercy Parents since 1995)

Mercy and Home Schooling

"I had always believed I could provide all of the formation that they needed (in the development of her children's faith). After home schooling for three years, we have been amazed at the amount of growth in this area. Routinely, my daughters come home and teach me things I did not know about our faith." (Mercy Parents since 2001)

Mercy as a Family

"My fondest memory is witnessed every day at Mercy. Seeing the warm hearts of the children as they run to hug and kiss the babies or their little siblings makes me know that this is where we need to be! This can be observed in so many ways at Mercy--in the chapel where a child prays for his/her sick brother or sister, on the playground where the children take delight in a three year old playing four-square with them, or even at a nursing home where a service club member sits and talks with a resident." (Mercy Parents since 2000)

"Over the past twelve years, I've heard many parents comment on the family atmosphere of the school and how good it is to have the support of others who share their goals for their families." (Mercy Alumni Parent)

"Over the years we've been at Mercy, so many great families have touched our lives. Even after their students graduate, they are still a part of our 'Mercy family'.
We would encourage anyone interested in Mercy Academy to come and see us in action. See the smiles on the children's faces and the dedication of our teachers. Our 'family' the the best anywhere!" (Mercy Parents since 1998)

Mercy's Impact on Family Life

"Our whole family has grown deeper in our faith because of Mercy." (Mercy Parents since 2005)

"Our children have learned so much about their faith at Mercy Academy (and so have we!). Mercy reinforces the same Christian values which we have tried to instill in our home. It is so nice to work with a school toward this end rather than against. It has strengthened our faith and has brought greater happiness to our family as a result." (Mercy Parents since 2000)

"Being at Mercy is the best decision that we've made for our children and our family. They truly love their faith and we're a better family for it!" (Mercy Parents since 1998)

Mercy is Worth the Hassle!

"I often think I might have a future career as a bus driver, and then I realize that I already do. The number one question we are asked is "WHY? What is so special about Mercy that makes you willing to drive 50 miles roundtrip each day?" Well, here is my standard answer. "Once you are here, you will wonder why you didn't come sooner." For us, the distance seemed our greatest obstacle. What I would tell someone else considering this is, "It will only be an obstacle if you let it be." I can't tell you it will be easy, because it may not be. Will it seem less of a problem than you thought it would be ? Absolutely. The benefits far outweigh the struggles. My children have also learned something very valuable too. Someday, when they have their own children, they will remember how important it was to us that they get a good Catholic education and it will be important to them, too!" (Mercy Parents since 2000)
